Considering the different needs of small and large dogs, the BioThane® city leash is available in several sizes. You can order it in five lengths: 150 cm, 165cm, 200 cm, 250 cm, and 300 cm. Upon request, we can extend it up to 400 cm or 500 cm. Contact us for extensions and further customization.
For the city red or brown leash, you can select the type of clip and the material of the fitting. We offer options that handle high loads and resist saltwater, giving you a fully personalized product perfectly suited to your dog’s size and the conditions in which it will be used.
Details matter in an urban leash
Not sure what to choose? Here’s a quick guide to selecting the right strap width, fitting, and clip for your dog’s size:
9 mm strap – very light, for small dogs up to 10 kg, comes with a small, lightweight clip, tear strength: 170 kg.
13 mm strap – comfortable to hold, also for small dogs up to 10 kg, comes with a small, lightweight clip, tear strength: 225 kg.
16 mm strap – ideal for medium dogs up to 25 kg, equipped with a medium spring clip, tear strength: 283 kg.
19 mm strap – for medium and large dogs over 25 kg, with a large spring or trigger clip, tear strength: 340 kg.
Fitting options in our leashes:
Brass — rustproof, frost-resistant, handles heavy loads.
Chrome-plated — modern, but not suitable for saltwater.
Black painted — elegant, though the paint may wear naturally over time.
Stainless steel — classic, saltwater-resistant, extremely tear-resistant.
Screw-lock aluminum (silver or black) — highly tear-resistant, suitable for medium and large dogs; locking mechanism prevents accidental release.
Non-locking aluminum (silver or black) — highly tear-resistant, smaller and lighter than the screw-lock version, suitable for dogs over 8 kg.

What Exactly Is Biothane?
Biothane is a material created and manufactured in the USA since 1977. Under the name Biothane, you’ll find not just one, but many different materials, all combining the best properties. They differ in thickness, width, flexibility, and durability. Biothane is often considered to have almost “magical” qualities. Its core is made from a polyester webbing coated with a thin layer of PVC. This makes the material tear-resistant, while the outer layer protects it from environmental factors such as rain, snow, and frost.

BioThane® Accessories
Rinse off dirt with water after walks – clean and fresh in seconds.
For stubborn dirt, gently wash with a sponge and mild soap or dishwashing liquid.
Do not use abrasive sponges or washing machines.

Brass and stainless steel develop a natural patina over time, similar to jewelry.
Clean with a microfiber cloth to remove patina.
Regular cleaning prevents discoloration on light-colored fur.
Avoid abrasive cleaners or toothpaste on metal fittings to preserve shine.
Other Coated or Colored Fittings (Silver, Rose Gold, Black Paint)
Avoid contact with salt water; dry immediately if wet.
These fittings do not develop patina and won’t stain fur.
Painted coatings may wear naturally over time; this is normal and not a defect.
Natural Leather Accessories
Wipe collars and leashes with a damp cloth after walks and let dry in a ventilated area.
For muddy walks, use a sponge or cloth with mild soap.
Avoid storing leather in warm, humid areas to prevent damage.
Condition leather periodically with oils (like linseed oil) or specialized leather waxes to maintain softness, prevent cracking, and protect from dirt and moisture. Test first on a small, hidden area as it may slightly darken the leather.
Marks or impressions on leather from buckles or handling are natural and part of its “aging” – the leather adapts and softens over time.
